Wayanad, Kerala: On July 30, 2024, a devastating series of landslides triggered by torrential rains wreaked havoc in the Wayanad district, claiming the lives of at least 125 people. Over 200 people have been injured and are hospitalized, requiring intensive care.
Rescue teams, including Seva Bharati and the NDRF, are working tirelessly to search for survivors and recover bodies. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue operations progress.
To aid relief efforts, Seva Bharati has set up collection centers across Kerala to gather essential supplies and assistance for the affected people.
Himachal Flood
In the disaster caused by cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh, Seva Bharati Himachal Pradesh is working to provide immediate relief to our brethren and victims who have been rendered homeless. Through the relief and rescue operations, the volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Seva Bharati are delivering food and relief services to those in need. Seva Bharati Himachal is providing relief efforts to the affected families, including food supplies, blankets, bed sheets, and medical assistance. In this time of natural calamity, your cooperation is greatly needed to assist the affected families in Himachal Pradesh.
Assam Flood
As we all know, due to heavy rains in the entire Assam region in recent days, the Brahmaputra and its tributaries have caused floods. This has resulted in millions of people being displaced from their homes. A large number of people are residing in relief camps. Seva Bharati has started relief work in 9 districts. In the coming days, there will be a need for food, medicines, mosquito nets, blankets, drinking water, Dettol, and bleaching powder for the children. To support this work and assist our flood-affected brethren, your generous cooperation is needed.

SIKKIM FLOOD
On October 3rd, a severe flood struck the Tista River, affecting the Tista Bazaar and its surrounding areas. Various organizations, including the North Bengal Seva Bharati, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Rashtraservika Samiti, Kalimpong District, Himalayan Yoga Sansthan, and Kalimpong Bharat Uday Society, worked together to provide assistance to the flood-affected residents.
Efforts were made to clear sand and mud from the homes and roads of flood victims. Additionally, 40 different types of medicines were distributed to address the health needs of the affected communities.
The passage also emphasizes the importance of community service during natural disasters, stating that “humanitarian service is divine service.” It highlights the need for increased efforts in cleaning homes and streets due to the extensive accumulation of sand and debris caused by the flood.
Local organizations, government authorities, and non-governmental organizations in the Kalimpong area were invited to contribute to the cleanup of Tista Bazaar, aiming to bring smiles to the faces of the affected populations.
TAMIL NADU FLOOD
As Michaung Cyclone enters its second day in Tamil Nadu, regions where ActionAid Association is actively engaged with through multiple interventions, encompassing Chennai, Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, and Chengalpet, has been severely impacted, with heavy rain and wind causing widespread damage. Following a swift impact assessment by our team, it is evident that urgent relief measures are imperative to support affected families. Approximately 2,000 families urgently require assistance within our intervention areas, including homeless families in Broadway, Mannadi, Memorial Hall and other localities; people living in informal settlements; domestic workers, and residents of Perumbakkam and Semmancheri.
