Appeal For SIKKIM Flood Releif

On October 3rd, a severe flood struck the Tista River, affecting the Tista Bazaar and its surrounding areas. Various organizations, including the North Bengal Seva Bharati, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Rashtraservika Samiti, Kalimpong District, Himalayan Yoga Sansthan, and Kalimpong Bharat Uday Society, worked together to provide assistance to the flood-affected residents.

Efforts were made to clear sand and mud from the homes and roads of flood victims. Additionally, 40 different types of medicines were distributed to address the health needs of the affected communities.

The passage also emphasizes the importance of community service during natural disasters, stating that “humanitarian service is divine service.” It highlights the need for increased efforts in cleaning homes and streets due to the extensive accumulation of sand and debris caused by the flood.
